Boosting Automotive Strategy

Transforming automotive leadership globally

Discover how the automotive sector enhances performance and agility through the effective implementation of the OKR methodology for strategic growth.

CLIENT CHALLENGES

The company needed a robust approach to sharpen its unique selling proposition (USP) and emerge as a global leader. A unified strategic transformation of the global organisation was necessary, and the board chose to implement this with OKRs (Objectives and Key Results)—an unprecedented approach to strategy execution. The challenge was to integrate various strategic roles within the company into the agile OKR system, establish the concept globally and ensure widespread acceptance.

H&Z APPROACH & SUCCESS FACTORS

To tackle this challenge, the automotive supplier partnered with H&Z to develop a tailored strategic approach. The focus was on integrating various strategic roles within the company into the agile OKR system, addressing the specific requirements of these roles, and fostering a deep understanding of the agile methodology.

H&Z began with a detailed analysis of the existing strategy processes to comprehend the diverse strategic needs within the company. This initial step involved assessing the unique challenges and requirements of the different business units worldwide.

Following this, H&Z collaborated closely with the company’s management team to develop a comprehensive change management plan for the OKR methodology. This plan aimed to enhance acceptance and performance within the agile OKR framework, ensuring seamless strategy execution in the OKR environment. H&Z refined strategic roles and established an OKR learning environment to ensure smooth strategy implementation.

RESULTS

The strategic initiatives implemented by H&Z led to impressive results:

  • Streamlined Strategy Implementation: The new agile strategy allowed the company to utilise its resources more effectively and significantly boost performance. The OKR methodology was successfully integrated, enhancing efficiency and goal attainment within the business units

  • Foundation for Global Strategy Rollout: Through gradual introduction and targeted training, the foundation for a successful global strategy rollout was established. The company now has a clear roadmap for the coming years, enabling continuous optimisation and adaptation of the strategy

  • Promotion of the OKR Methodology: The project supported the acceptance and implementation of the agile OKR methodology across the entire company. The strategic alignment prepared employees for the new requirements and ensured the long-term sustainability of the strategic approach

By leveraging the OKR methodology, the company not only improved its strategic execution but also positioned itself as a leader in the automotive industry, ready to navigate future challenges with agility and precision.
