From Carve-Out to Competitive Independence
Establishing an independent procurement function with measurable EBIT impact.
Following the carve-out of a €1 billion security and communication technology business from Bosch in June 2025, Keenfinity Group faced the challenge of building independent core functions while maintaining operational stability. Procurement was one of the most critical areas to transition quickly and effectively.
The challenge
With the carve-out completed, Keenfinity Group needed to replace Bosch’s established procurement structures with its own operating model, under real-world conditions. This transition took place amid tariff pressures, supply chain volatility and ongoing decoupling requirements.
The objective was not only to ensure continuity, but to demonstrate that procurement could contribute measurable value early in the company’s standalone journey.
The Objective
Keenfinity Group set out to:
- Establish a fully independent procurement organisation
- Translate procurement activities into measurable EBITDA impact
- Strengthen collaboration across procurement, operations and engineering
The Approach
Instead of a classic transformation program, the focus was on practical execution from day one. A hands-on team worked closely with procurement leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to identify and implement value levers immediately.
Key elements included:
Analysis
A transparent assessment of value potential across categories and manufacturing sites
Defining initiatives
Pragmatic initiatives addressing cost, performance and supplier collaboration
Alignment
Close alignment between procurement, operations, engineering and finance
The Impact
Within the initial phase, the procurement initiative delivered:
- Delivered Procurement savings overachieved business plan
- Stronger cross-functional collaboration
- Supplier relationships strengthened
