H&Z Automotive Pulse Checks

About the H&Z Automotive Pulse Check

H&Z Management Consulting publishes the Automotive Industry Pulse Check twice a year to provide a data-driven view on competitiveness, transformation, and market sentiment across the automotive sector.

Based on insights from senior decision-makers across OEMs and suppliers, the Pulse Check combines quantitative results with qualitative expert interpretation, offering a concise and relevant industry benchmark

Rising Pressure and Strategic Refocus

The 2025/H2 edition shows a European automotive industry under increasing pressure. While more than 75% of respondents still expect a neutral to positive outlook for 2025, optimism is fading as uncertainty, regulation, and geopolitical risks intensify.

Key findings include:

  • Product cost and profitability as the top strategic priority

  • Electrification and software-defined vehicles as the dominant technology trends

  • China strengthening its competitive lead in innovation, speed, and cost

  • AI adoption progressing, but still limited by security concerns and talent gaps

The results highlight a clear shift towards cost excellence, resilience, and selective investment.
