Siltronic’s management had already decided in 2018 to introduce JAGGAER to reorganize and structure numerous purchasing processes. The first project phase, completed in 2020, covered basic supplier management, eProcurement and ordering processes. As one of the technology leaders and a driving force for innovation in the field of silicon wafer production, strategic purchasing processes and reliable quality management are particularly important for Siltronic. Therefore, after the successful introduction of the software in phase 1, it was time to devote more attention to these essential criteria and integrate them more strongly into the software – in order to work highly efficiently and guarantee long-term success.

Goal: Improved quality and supplier management

The aim was therefore to further digitalize supplier management and improve the controlling of suppliers. In order to identify relevant partners and evaluate risks in the future, but also to simplify and accelerate internal processes. The resulting improvement in quality and increased efficiency will support Siltronic’s long-term success.

Aneon’s Approach

The solution was provided by JAGGAER, the market leader among procurement software manufacturers. A new way to procure and enter into partnerships. The associated expertise in the areas of procurement, implementation, change and communication was provided by aneon.

The transformation to digital procurement was accompanied by aneon employees in all project phases in order to create real performance benefits for the entire Siltronic organization. Starting with comprehensive consulting and review of the professional and technical requirements, training, the final cutover (i.e. the transfer to the productive system), all the way to the company-wide roll-out. In order to guarantee the flawless, intact operation of the complex system and to make Siltronic more competitive with the help of the digital solution.

It is a long way until a system is implemented and both internal users and suppliers accept and use it. For aneon, the digitalization of purchasing therefore does not end with the technical configuration.

With aneon solutions GmbH as a reliable partner, the software was implemented at Siltronic in the greatest possible depth. Thanks to numerous consultations, it was possible to make detailed adjustments to the system in order to meet the customer’s requirements.

Training courses based on the “train the trainer” principle, documents for internal training and do’s and don’ts are all part of the holistic approach. After all, digital transformation is a challenge and must be communicated in the best possible way to guarantee maximum acceptance of the software within the company.

Results

Transparency & Efficiency

Knowing at a glance which supplier is suitable saves valuable time and a lot of money. Thanks to the new software, this is now possible. Tenders can be created within minutes and suppliers can be evaluated on the basis of defined risk factors and existing assessments. Ultimately, the right decision can be made quickly and accurately when awarding a contract.

Procurement strategies are now more transparent and easier to understand. The software’s automated functions also help to avoid unnecessary and costly errors.

The Next Steps: Phase 3

In fact, the next stage of the successful partnership is already being implemented. Together with aneon, JAGGAER is being rolled out in the newly built factory in Singapore. aneon’s Change & Communication department is responsible for training materials and conducting training sessions based on the “train the trainer” principle.
