Successful Machine Learning Projects in Controlling: A Conversation with Christoph Tertel
Christoph Tertel discusses with Dennis Cichowski and Kai-Uwe Stahl his approach to control and forecasting using machine learning projects, and how such successful projects can be launched within a week!
What Christoph says:
It was a pleasure when Dennis and Kai invited me to a joint podcast on the topic of machine learning. I am driven by the topic because I have seen too often that such projects were started with false ambitions and without a target image. I also see again and again that company-internal complexities are trivialised instead of defining and implementing meaningful expansion stages with the right method. This usually leads to “Zombie-Projects” - undead ventures that wander restlessly through the organisation, costing money without adding value. Therefore, it is my mission to go out and encourage people to set out and make such projects effective.
Here's what you can take away from this episode:
- Why does machine learning make sense in forecasting?
- What can such transformation projects look like?
- Which phases should you go through?
- What successes has he had with machine learning forecasting?
- How can such projects be implemented with the help of a one-week sprint?
- How do you transfer successful project results to the rest of the company?
