It is time for procurement to shine! Being responsible for managing scope 3 emissions, procurement plays an important role in driving corporate sustainability transformation. There is a new purpose of procurement: make sure to become the major driver for positive change and to actively support your company in achieving its sustainability targets.
Management support is key! It’s about convincing top management to support (and promote) your sustainability journey. Successful sustainability transformation requires strong leadership and an inspiring purpose that motivates internal and external stakeholders to join. Magic happens once you get started. You are not alone. There is a whole ecosystem (including suppliers) that can be leveraged, as there are already quite a lot of solutions out there.
