Press release: After top management position at Volvo Martina Buchhauser will now advise as a Senior Advisor in the H&Z Group

Top-class reinforcement in sustainability and procurement:

H&Z Unternehmensberatung is proud to have won purchasing expert Martina Buchhauser as Senior Advisor. As a top manager in the automotive industry for many years, Buchhauser has an enormous wealth of knowledge in the areas of purchasing, supply chain networks and future trends, from which H&Z will now benefit in the future.

Buchhauser's areas of expertise include strategy and transformation, resilient value chains, sustainability and efficient cost structures - topics that will determine the competitiveness and future of companies. From 2017 until the beginning of this year, Buchhauser was Chief Procurement Officer and member of the Executive Board at Swedish Volvo, where she was responsible for purchasing and sustainability. "These future topics are my passion," Buchhauser explains. "That's why I decided to join H&Z, because there I can continue to drive them forward." Prior to joining Volvo, Buchhauser worked at BMW, MAN and GM/Opel globally in the areas of purchasing and supplier network at locations in Germany, the USA and Sweden. While there, Buchhauser was responsible for budgets of up to €20 billion, orchestrated huge supply chains, implemented comprehensive cost reduction programs and secured partners, capabilities and technologies for the companies to help shape the mobility of the future. In this way, Buchhauser has closely supported and helped shape the transformation of the automotive industry as it moves toward electromobility and sustainable mobility solutions and responsible supply chains. Due to her activities in international corporations, she not only has a high sensitivity for the challenges of globally operating companies, but also for the cultural differences between organizations as well as their partners and suppliers.

The decision to join H&Z was easy for Buchhauser. "I share the philosophy of H&Z that behind every company there is an organization that wants to be taken along," says the automotive expert. "A transformation therefore also works from my point of view not only via the brain, but needs implementation power and understanding - in other words, equally hand and heart." Buchhauser, who holds a master's degree in management from Stanford University in California, will continue to hold mandates on various supervisory boards in addition to her position at H&Z as a senior advisor.
